Below is an excerpt from my personal journal on thoughts about prop 8 in California.

Over the last months I have followed politics and my choice has been heard, but there are still injustices in this world I don’t understand. prop 8 in california is the most inane conception in modern times. People passed a change in the California Constitution that defines marriage as between a man and a woman. Thus nullifying gay marriage. The term gay marriage is even silly in my view, because it separates people into a category. Marriage should be between two people of legal age. No matter male or female it should not matter.
I understated there is heated arguments on both sides of the issue, and for my part I have said some low things about the christian right who seem to oppose same sex marriage, but at the end of the day, a right for all people should be the final argument. Taking away rights in a time where we should learned from our mistakes of intollarance can be interpreted only as a step back into history. We must as a society in this free united states of america see the world throught love and compassion. The other alternative leads us down a path of segrigating people who the majority does not like. Majority is what passed prop 8 but as a CNN commentator stated “often times in the history of our nation, the majority has been wrong”. It takes an understanding and a objective view to decide that the majority decision based on emotion will be our downfall as a free people.

What action can I take? To openly talk to people to help them understand what is at stake in a decision like prop 8. How we must see the world through a pluralistic lens and not through a personal or even faith based mioptic view. In the end we all cherish the freedom and rights to have a vote and opionion, but those who don’t see the issue with an open mind may find a future they created that will become an extream majorative and anyone on the outside of that statistic will bare the injustice of that view.

My blog post from a long time ago had some sense of who I was. But along the way trolls and people that don’t know me shyed me away from posting under my blog. That is why I post here under the Dude. I feel disconnected in a way because I want to post honest and interesting thoughts but don’t sometimes. I like to write but don’t do it often enough and when I do, I seem to have these self effacing posts that don’t do much but ramble on. You see my point. Anyway. I think it is time to continue into the unknown. Be the ball danny. For now. I am the ball.

So it has been awhile since I have posted to this blog of choice. I do ofter use twitter to update about my daily musings, however, I feel no compelled to write in either forms too much lately. I don’t know if it is post vacation blues or just not in the mood, but I am silent for now. I need to focus on writing that I want to do, but the internets seem to distract me. oh well off to do something…..
